Hi Joakim, I re-read some emails from last year's events and realised I hadn't checked out your website. What a really good report of the race you've provided here :) I'm really looking forward to giving it a better shot this year as our last dry run before MDS 2011 - good luck to us all :))

Great report Joakim, you forgot to mention that the first two days you also carried a resonably heavy SLR in your hand, which must have upset your balance!, you ran alot better when you carried it in your backpack!
Really good meeting you and running/walking with you on thursday.
look forward to seeing you again somewhere.

Hi Joakim,
Thanks for your great report, very pleased you enjoyed the extreme sunbathing week.
The first day climb , known as the Drag-on, was actually closer to 11km, certainly a nice warm up, I notice in some of the race pictures that the stray dog which lived around the race hotel also made it to CP3!! hope it has found a home in Zafarraya. Good job I sneaked it some ham and cheese before the start:)
The race film should be out soon-ish.
Adios,
Paul

Morning Joakim

Great to see you again last week and a good summary of the race. I'm with you on the 'to run alone or not to run alone 'debate, 10 minutes of company on an otherwise lonely run can make all the difference (even if there's no common language).

Life lessons to take from Spain:
Never underestimate the power of a smile and a joke at a check point;
Always look after one's feet, when they're screwed, it's game over;
Don't wake up a sleeping Para, you'll get a swift response.

Joakim, I'm running two 3-day ultras later in the year if you fancy the practice?!?
